New Update on the 2020 Alberta Potato Conference...
A tough, but necessary decision has been made to cancel our upcoming Alberta Potato Conference and Tradeshow that was to be held in Red Deer on November 17th-19th. Given the current situation with COVID-19, the PGA would not have been able to host our annual event and still adhere to the required guidelines put forth by AHS. In following with our Regulation requirements, we will be hosting a virtual-only (Zoom) AGM Business Meeting on Wednesday, November 18th, time TBD. Like many of the Boards and Commissions in Alberta, we have made this decision in the best interest of not only our growers, their families and our industry but for everyone that is involved in the undertaking of this great annual event. Our plan is to come back in 2021 with an even better event for all of us.
Russ Van Boom, Chairman of the Board
The 2020 Tradeshow will be cancelled for this year...
After much deliberation over the last couple of weeks the board of directors of the APIA has unanimously voted to postpone our annual Trade Show in November. Our decision was not taken lightly and involved discussion with exhibitors, industry, and growers. Over the last approximately thirty years many relationships have been developed at the Alberta Potato Conference and APIA Trade Show. While every one of us would like to continue building on these relationships we felt it was in the best interest to postpone until the following fall. A large thank you is extended to all of our past exhibitors, to our industry members , and to all growers, for your patience and understanding.
